Prampolini Burri. Dalla Materia 2.
Prampolini Burri. Della Materia is the catalogue published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at the Collezione Giancarlo and Danna Olgiati in Lugano. The exhibition investigates the use of alternative materials in art, in dialogue with and in contrast to traditional painting, tracing the evolution of experimental practices that emerged throughout the twentieth century in Italy. This continuous line of research into matter is exemplified in the work of Enrico Prampolini (Modena, 1894–Rome, 1956) and Alberto Burri (Città di Castello, 1915–Nice, 1995), both active in Rome. Richly illustrated, the volume presents their exploration of the expressive potential of matter through the works on display, on loan from major international public and private collections. From Prampolini’s Futurist mixed-media compositions toBurri’s powerful material creations, the exhibition reveals how their radical use of matter captured the spirit of a complex and unsettling age, giving form to its intensity and dramatic force. Essays by curators Gabriella Belli and Bruno Corà delve into the practices and œuvre of two seminal figures in twentieth-century Italian art.

Red on Blue — Martino Vercesi Jazz Quartet

10/12/2025, 6:30 pm, Via Bigli 11, Milan
On December 10th at Via Bigli, NOTTE hosts Red on Blue, an evening where music becomes dialogue and the gallery acts as a cultural house. The concert follows two currents. Blue is the natural tone of jazz: measured, clear, unhurried. Red is its counterpoint: tempo rising, phrases tightening, ideas moving forward without warning. On the stage Daniele Moretto on trumpet, Martino Vercesi on guitar, Giulio Corini on double bass, and Matteo Frigerio on drums. The quartet navigates both — cool jazz sections, more driven passages, and ballads that open the room before the pulse returns. No formula, no narrative: simply the music unfolding in its own logic. The group plays as a unit: concise lines, direct exchanges, decisions made on the spot. NOTTE presents the concert not as entertainment, but as a meeting point — a place where people gather around sound, ideas, and the pleasure of listening. Red on Blue is open to everyone: a night of jazz, clarity, and presence in the spaces of NOTTE.
